Running Within: page 67
Taking risks makes you inwardly strong, instilling in you a profound awareness, adding new meaning and richness to your running and racing; taking risks usually leads to breakthroughs in your running. When most runners are asked how they improve, they say it's their willingness to go out on a limb with the courage to take risks and learn from the outcome, whether favorable or not.
My new montra for this training cycle:
God is My Strength
I am Strong
Anything is Possible
I am feeling stronger everyday. Trail Season is in full swing and half way through my 1st training cycle of the season. I'm pushing beyond my normal and my normal was fairly high to begin with.
Gary was gracious enough to give me a running coach for my birthday. At least, he's planning my schedules and I'm putting in the miles. Who's the coach you say??? Well, it's Karl Meltzer! 100 miler extraordinaire. Like I said, I'm shaking things up and pushing the envelope and I'm gonna have some fun! I'm getting stronger and it's exciting.
Anything is possible and the only limits we have are the ones we place on ourselves.
Does it sound ridiculous?? Anything is Possible!!

I got me a coach too! What's up with us, old ladies? :)
Love the book, love the mantra. Anything is possible. It takes guts and I know you have em'.
"Running Within" changed my running and attitude for the better. Before a race, or whenever I need a pick-me-up or attitude adjustment, I revisit the book, rereading sections I'd highlighted that really resonated with me.
