Incredible Season So Far!

In June,
1st - I ran The Seattle Rock'n'Roll Marathon, it was a great run!

2nd - The following weekend I ran Sauvie's Island Flat Marathon with about the same outcome. It was a good run but a little on the "HOT" side.

July 11th

3rd - I ran SOB (Southern Out and Back) 50K (31 miles). It was my best run of the year. I wasn't feeling it around mile 12, but once I made it the 1/2 way point at 15 miles my time was better than I was expecting. I got excited and enjoyed the down hill for quite awhile. I had several things continuing through my mind.

"Don't get the walkies"
"Walk with a purpose"
"Ask yourself - "Is this runnable?" if it is "RUN"

I always try to listen to other helpful hints and words of running wisdom.
I continued to walk/run some sections and passed quite a few people on the return trip. I too was passed by only men! I passed some guys too. It's fun to pass the young guys, when I'm an older gal!! My last hill to the finish I ran the whole 3/4 of a mile and had a good stride in to finish. 5:51 - my fastest 50k, sub 6 -WootWoot!!

Three Weeks of constant running.

I am still amazed at what I can ask of my body and it responds with "Okay, if you really want me too!"

I'm working on Build 2 Week and am getting pooped!
Peak Week is around the corner with PCT 50 miler on July 25th - out near Mt. Hood. It will be a beautiful run with a lot of amazing runners and nice people!

I'm in need of a slogan for this race???

"Incredible Season So Far" ....uh Cheri... I just looked through your blog and I think you should maybe change that to "Incredible couple years ..so far"!
Indeed,I think you are incredible. Also, I see you are leading the Oregon Trail Series! Awesome. Congratulations.
Looking forward to seeing you at PCT ultra. (my first 50 -yikes!)

It just feels good when you pass someone. Especially when they started out too fast and your thoughts are "I will see you later".
I like your attitude on walking vs. running.
You put the time in, now get the results.
