Christmas Camp 2008 - Wildwood Group
Well, we would have a larger group, but other chose to run loops around a fitness park. So we headed out for the mud that Wildwood had to offer. There were some slippery parts but not many. It was a great day out there! Gary was a great aid station - pumpkin pie and all!!
As for my review of the new year.
As for my review of the new year.
What can I say about 1.5 years of running......I love it! It has totally changed me. I love the challenges that have come my way this last year. I have completed 5 - 50k's this year & my first 100 mile week!! Its very hard for me to put into words how swelling with pride in myself I am. I have lost approx. 37 pds. and I weight less than I did when I was in my 20's. I have made some new friends! Pretty good for a shy person!

I'm so excited to see what the new year holds. Last year my objective was to complete the races, this year I want to beat my old times. I want to at least finish 2 races - PCT 50 & Waldo 100K. I've learned how far to push myself, even with an injury. It's amazing what the body can withstand. I believe childbirth prepares you for "ultras". If I can have 5 kids - I can run an ultra!

Let's see what the New Year has bring it on!!

Awesome year and it was fun having you part of Christmas Camp!
PCT and Waldo...woof...tough but fun! Likely my plan as well.
I see hill repeats in our future :-)
Bummer on Pumpkin Pie! Larry ran 5 miles with only hope for that:) Save some for next time, and what a great year!
Nice blog Sheri, and only 1.5 years of running – Awesome. I’ve been at it for 3 years and it has made very positive changes in myself and family (They don’t run but love to be my support crew). I’ve struggled with injuries, DNF, and DNS, but it has only made me stronger and more determined to keep improving. The people I’ve meet are so supportive and motivating, and they don’t hesitate to share their personal experience to help out. I will check back to see how 09 is going for you.
Good luck,
TAB
